Ten years ago on 7/7/7 my life changed. For the better of course. As they wheeled me out of the OT and took me to my room I saw her in my mom's arms. they lowered her down for me to see her and my first reaction in my mind was, my gosh she's so beautiful, is she mine?? And then it hit me, I had just become a mom!!!

And the thought scared me so bad, that my bp shot up - my heart was pounding, I could feel palpitations and I thought I was gonna die! My bff called and I told my husband to tell her I am dying :).

The nurse came and checked my bp. Then she called the other dr who had scrubbed in for my surgery as my dr was onto the next delivery. Long story short, no matter how prepared you are, you are never really prepared :)

So yes, I have survived many sleepless nights of fever, tantrums, fussy food days, non stop breastfeeding, weaning woes, potty training, school dramas, how to deal with bullies and i don't want to study for the reviews :) It's been (still is) an amazing ride and all I want to tell you young moms, is please spend quality time with your childoos - they grow up so fast!

I miss her being pocket-size at times. When she would be glued to my hip :) Now she wears my sandals (grrrr). Enjoy the now, 'coz you will soon forget what it was like when they were small.

ps: We're having a small party in the building tomorrow - she has asked not to do a big thing (theme party etc at some interesting venue), as she is "too old to do that sort of thing anymore". Imagine!
