Being a parent is a challenging thing and everytime you realise you didn’t do it right..a feeling of guilt rushing through your mind. As parents our most valuable assets are our children, and yet so often out of our own needs and desires, we forget they are their own unique people too. We tend to become more controlling, robbing the freedom they need, setting rules and regulations etc. We always forget that they need us in every possible way and we fail to understand that.
All children need love. All children deserve love. We can give our children too many "things" but nothing can replace love and our presence which matter the most to them. The other thing is while raising children sounds scary and we more often tend to lose faith in ourselves. So We must have faith in our children and give them the rope they need to struggle, discover and succeed. It requires time and more time, all you can give your child is time to explore themselves and the world out there!
The utmost important aspect of parenting is affection which can be a grounding aspect for building a stronger relationship. Touch, hugs and kisses stimulates hormones for bonding and increases a sense of security, thereby reducing stress levels in children. Talk to your children, discuss, listen to them, make them understand, be friends with them, by all this they’ll gradually feel you’re always there for them and they’re not alone..so did you hug them today?
Moreover, the other aspects are compassion, every child on earth is here to be different. They shouldn’t be termed as..be-as-good-as or be-as or be-like-your-older-sibling. So comparing them will only lower their confidence and self-esteem. It is rather making them understand that he or she is rare and beautiful! It should rather be..try to be a person better today than you were tomorrow..how does this sound? a comparison to themselves will work wonders!
‘Love and help all the children, all the days of your existence. They need us!’ - Inspiring quote by Pop star Michael Jackson!
