TIPS TO SELECT THE BEST PLAY SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD -
As a parent we always want the best for our kids. So when it comes to selecting a playschool for our toddlers, it is quite natural that many of us are extremely confused - which school will be the best? Will my baby be comfortable here? Etc etc. So here are some practical tips I followed while selecting a playschool for my daughter. Hope this helps :
1. DISTANCE - Look for schools in your vicinity as preschoolers are too small to bear the brunt of long travels to school.
2. CLASS STRENGTH - A pre-nursery class with a lot of kids cramped into a small room becomes stressful for the child. They need individual attention at such a crucial age and this is possible only with a limited class-size. The optimum strength is 10-15 kids with two teachers in a class.
3. HYGIENE - The school premises should be clean. Toilets should be washed regularly. The classrooms must be spic and span. If you live in a city where the temperature go extreme, you may want to look for AC rooms in the school.
4. PLAY AREA - There should be ample space for the kids to play as well. Toddlers are hyperactive species and cannot be kept bundled up in rooms for long. The play area should be child-proof. An attendant should be with the kids at all times.
5. SAFETY - With a spat in Crimes against children, we have to be totally sure about the security aspect of the school. CCTV cameras should be installed at proper places. The school authorities should be responsible for handing over the child to only registered people in their records like parents, immediate family members etc.
6. TEACHERS' ATTITUDE - Talk to the teachers in the school. This gives an idea about their outlook for the children in general. Keep a look for warning signals. Like too harsh a tone, non-serious attitude etc.
So after keeping in mind all the above mentioned features, it becomes easier to finalise the kind of playschool we want our kids to attend. Also ensure that the child is of appropriate age before sending him to a playgroup, too early or too late may prove to be a hindrance in his/her cognitive development.
