Treatment for head injuries in children is chosen based on the child’s age and severity of the injury. Mild head injury may require only wound dressing at a doctor’s clinic. However, severe head injury may require hospitalisation followed by medical tests.
The first-aid at home may help your child to recover faster and get some relief before they are taken to the doctor.

You can apply an ice pack to reduce swelling and pain.
If your child is bleeding, control the bleeding by putting a clean cloth on the wound and giving gentle pressure.
Minor cuts can be treated by cleaning with an antiseptic liquid and the topical application of ointments.
Contact your doctor as soonest as possible, if your child gets unconscious.
