Watching the sun dip into the Arabian Sea atop the lighthouse at Kaup(Kapu) beach is a breathtaking view only a few have witnessed. One of the lesser known beaches of the Udupi district, Kapu's only celebrity is its striking black and white lighthouse. A celebrity no less...this lighthouse was built by the British in 1901 and still guides sailors to safety away from the cutting rocks closer to the coastline.

The pristine sand, blue water and palm fringes stretching along both sides of the lighthouse, undeniably made this spontaneous trip 40 km from Mangalore every bit its worth! Kids and beaches do I need to say more! Do you'll have a pic of kids on the beach? Post them here!
