Hi Jennifer I too used silver till i gave her purees but we quickly did transition to handsmashed and soft foods. So using plate now. Just avoid plastics other than that you can use anything. You can give water little after food. But remember breast milk or formula milk will be the main liquid till 1 year. Hi Jennifer, I used silver/steel utensils with rounded edges that weren't sharp for my daughter while starting solids. Be sure to sterilize the utensils well before giving food. However you can go for BPA free plastic utensils too, there is a wide variety of baby cutlery online. Offer sips of water after every meal in a sippy cup.. it's important to avoid constipation in babies.
