My gynaecologist actually advised me against a waist belt even though I had a normal delivery. She said exactly what aditi said, nothing works like a healthy diet and exercise would.

You don't need to wear a waist belt after a c section. It might provide some relief for the back. But if you are careful about the posture while sitting or feeding you will get better. And if you are looking for a belt to reduce the tummmy then it won't really be of much help. A good diet and exercise will be more beneficial. A workout program can be started post 6 months. Till then walking is very helpful.
