Weight gain is slower in the second half of the first year. We normally see babies gaining more height during this time. It is best to introduce foods slowly rather than rushing with solids. Avoid high fat foods as the baby's body cannot process these. At this age a breakfast of fruits, lunch of rice dal and veggies and a dinner of rice or ragi and veggies is a good combination.
