Cold drinks like colas etc have loads of sugar preservatives and also caffeine which interferes with iron absorption. You should completely avoid them. Instead try fruit juices or if you enjoy the fizz have a fresh lime with soda and make it with jaggery instead of sugar. A little sods can also be added to fresh home made fruit juices.
