Q:

I delivered my baby on Nov 23rd. During first postpartum visit my gynac told that for some breastfeeding ladies it may take 3 or even 6months to get their periods. But within a month I got my periods on 26th Dec eventhough my baby is on exclusive breastfeeding. Intercourse happened after 4 weeks of delivery. Whether that could be the reason for my period? Experts please tell whether it's normal.

ideally you should refrain from from intercourse for 45 days after baby or untill your gyne gives u a go ahead. so if u did it without a go ahead I suggest you talk to her once.
I got post pregnancy flow for 28 days and after that I got my periods in 35 days. even though I was regularly breastfeeding.

Subha

ok Kanupriya thx. I'll talk to my gyne

It is normal especially if baby is sleeping long hours for the cycle to resume.if it is clots then discuss with the doctor.

Tanu

yes inter course is one of the reason. as few dr.s suggest not to be in contact for min 60 days or more
