Gargi Vaish

is it occasional tightening or continuous? my stomach also gets tightened,i.e. hard on and off. my gynae told these are braxton Hicks contractions

sugandha ahuja

Gargi Vaish... it is not continuous. but it does happens once or twice a day. eases out a bit if i change position. yea my gynaec also said the same. but also asked me to do bed rest

Gargi Vaish

then there is nothing to worry about unless u get some other symptoms

sugandha ahuja

yea... i m just hoping. just tensed that it should not increase

sugandha ahuja

hello sugandha...
Proluton Depot injection 500mg is used to treat habitual and threatened abortion to help prevent preterm delivery in women who have had a premature baby in the past.. Preterm delivery is often the result of insufficient progesterone production by the body to maintain the pregnancy, due to a disruption on the normal hormonal cycle known as a luteal phase defect.  Proluton Depot injection 500mg helps correct this imbalance and reduces the risk of miscarriage. Proluton Depot injection contains hydroxyprogesterone (500mg), a synthetic derivative of natural progesterone and works in a similar way but is more potent and long-acting when injected..
A tightening sensation that spreads across the abdomen can be a shocker—is it a cramp? Or a contraction?.. it could just be that baby is moving around in there or you’re having gas. Or your uterus is contracting— Braxton hicks contractions happening randomly in the second and third trimesters, and aren’t a reason to worry. If it’s Braxton Hicks contractions, you can try switching positions—stand if you’re sitting, or sit if you’re standing—and they’ll likely go away.. If the tightening is more constant and doesn’t let up, it could be preterm- if the tightening is happening more than four times an hour, then definitely give your OB a call..

thanks Dr.Shilpitha Shanthappa.... my tightening is not painful and there are not any other symptom. it happens 2-3 times and eases in few seconds. yes it eases out sometimes by changing positions. what if its a preterm contraction? then what are the risks?

Dr. Shilpitha Shanthappa

if it is relieved then no need to worry...
preterm contractions will be atleast 4-5 episodes in an hour and it wont relieve also
