Q:

I am 4 months pregnants. I was advised bed rest for 3 months and have now joined office with doctors permission andI travel by car. I feel very bothered due to the jerks I feel while travelling as it is a critical period when baby's organs starts forming and growing. Is it safe to travel by car?

actually not safe...i used to drive 80 kms daily till 6th month. But doctor had given me Medicine that helped me n my baby. you must consult doctor in such cases as every pregnant is different

While it is considered to be safer to travel during 2nd Trimester
plz consult your doctor if you feel uncomfortable.
As a thumb rule always wear seatbelts during road travel ( even on the back seat )

All babies organs have been formed in the first three months. That is what is called the critical period. Also the baby is very well protected by the amniotic fluid and the layers of cushions in the uterus due to which jerks are not felt. Travel by car locally is surely safe. It is not advised to travel by two or three wheelers during pregnancy.
