BabyChakra BabyChakra Expert . Meghana Tamraparni if you are having major difficulty in breathing go to the hospital asap . Don't take a chance. It may be nothing serious but best to be safe.

Headache shivering and difficulty in breathing should be checked by the doctor. However you have also added fear and tension in the equation and this can also mean post partum baby blues which does affect some mothers and this can lead to all the symptoms you describe. Please discuss this with your spouse and also see a counselor to help you deal with the same.

Dear Meghana, You are a new mother and it's natural to feel overwhelmed in this new role but as you stated there's 'fear', 'trouble breathing', 'shivering in legs' and 'feeling tense all the time' isn't healthy. It seems to me like you are under stress post delivery. You are most likely going through anxiety and mild panic attacks. Take Support from husband and family is essential. Take help from them. As difficult as it may sound. Take rest and sleep while baby is sleeping or try relaxation techniques. Please check your food and water intake as it's physically and emotionally an exhausting journey and your body has gone through a lot of changes. You mentioned you have headaches, dehydration could be a cause. Also check for any infection too.Deficiency of nutrients , vitamins , iron can cause weakness too.I'd suggest you see your family physician or gynaecologist and let them rule out any medical concern. If medically there is no concern then I would recommend Post Partum Counselling as the counselor will be able to work with you and help you identify problem areas and how best to handle them. Please do address it at the earliest before it turns into depression or an anxiety disorder.
