Q:

Hi.. My boy is 4 months old and his weight is 4.54 kgs. Am not breastfeeding coz of no milk secretion. His is completely on formula milk. His birth weight was 2.56kgs. Please advise if this is normal or advise if I can give any alternate intake for him.

This is the weight for age graph recommended by the WHO. It is best to discuss diet and formula quantity with the baby's doctor. Please also ensure that you follow the instructions given on the box and do not dilute the formula more than recommended.

There should be a weight increase of 200 grams per week.

sometimes there is no reason that babies don't put on weight as per graphs. If baby is reaching milestones, active and happy, it's usually nothing to worry. but involve your pediatrician to see if anything is amiss.
