Q:

#weaning
My 8 month old baby was born low weight at 2.195 kgs. and is 6.150 kgs. now. He eats well, has adapted well to solids, but looks very lean. Elders at home want to feed him all the time that he is awake to fatten him up. Will it affect him adversely, if he is fed too many times a day?

Sonali Shivlani ma'm..

Children do need to eat small meals and often. However they should eat healthy options and not be fed with the purpose of gaining weight. Healthy foods should be the target and quantity to be decided by the baby.

i give only wholesome foods, and everyone is advising to give cerelac. even a paediatrician prescribed cerelac. is it healthy? i give cereals, fruits and veggies...

Sonali Shivlani

I would recommend processed and packaged foods while travelling.

Small healthy meals are always great for babies. On the elders: they need something or the other to worry about folks they care about 😙 But don't you worry. Baby looks happy healthy and given what an incredible mom you clearly are Sheeba Vijesh he 'll grow up great. If he s sleeping well, taken to solids well, his milestones are on track. Hugs!!!
