Q:

My wife has completed 40 weeks and she is still not into labour pains. Doctor is insisting to go for inducing labour through medication. Shall we wait more or go ahead with what doctor is suggesting?

Hello...
Being overdue is the most common reason for induction of labour as at 39 weeks to 40 weeks of pregnancy may reduce the risk, particularly if you have other complications... So, if doctor is insisting on this, then you should go for it... waiting more can cause other complications too...

Hello Doctor Shilpitha... Thanks for your response. There are no complications in the pregnancy so far. Doctor is saying the head is not down yet. She has opened the mouth through manual intervention.
Though she is insisting now to start the artificial labor induction process. Is it advisable to wait for 1-2 days more or shall we go and admit in hospital for labor induction?

Dr. Shilpitha Shanthappa

if everything is doing well then you can take time for preperation but be ready for emergency as already manual intervention is there
