Q:

My doctor has prescribed me calcium and iron. My mom told me that calcium generally should be taken in the afternoon and not in the night..since it's hard to digest and may cause stones... Is that true?

You can check with your doctor.. take tablets as per doctor instructions only...

You can take it any tiny time but it is more easy to digest it in day so it is said so

Hey divya just keep one thing in mind dnt take iron and calcium tablets together and maintain 4 hrs gap between them.
I take iron at 8 clock and at 12 I take calcium and folic acid this is my routine!

You can eat anytime I akways had calcium in the night . Just make sure Iron and calcium are not consumed together and iron should always be in mornings. So as Parul said iron in the morning calcium in the afternoon.

Just to add my wisdom here.. if calcium can cause digestion issue what about milk which is loaded with calcium?; Milk is always recommended in the night before bed.. it's a soother .. it helps us to sleep.

My gynaecologist recommended me to take iron tablets 1 hour before heavy meal. Also for better absorption of iron have it with glass of orange juice( basically with vit -C) Not to take calcium n iron together keep a gap of 6-8 hours
