Q:

I m a hypothyroid on medication n do not hav a full milk supply, does hypothyroidism affect milk supply, what should i do to increase milk supply

sweta bajaj

Hey Sonali even I have hypothyroidism and today only I had a regular visit to my endocrinologist he said it affects lactation only when uncontrolled else not. Are u on medications and regularly consulting an endocrinologist ?

It doesn't if your Thyroid is under control means TSH less than 5...to increase milk supply have a good diet and let the baby suckle as much as possible be as more the baby suckles more the milk is formed... There are some medicines also to increase which may help but for that you must see the doctor
