Q:

#BabyNeeds . My baby is one month 21days old. He refuses to feed on left breast though I try everyday. My nipple problem has also sorted since I pump but still doesn't feed that side. So I give him formula and also right side feed. I feel guilty that I can't feed him exclusively as pumped milk isn't much and takes a lot of my time. Also due to pressing at the hospital after delivery I had trauma on that side which has healed but now I can feel a lump that side which is not painful but when I press milk comes out. Is there a need to worry.

Dear relax first but yes you have to ensure both breasts are latched and fed on. You have to empty both. Maybe pump and store milk but please ensure you pump milk from both.

Hi.. its most likely becasue he is unable to latch properly on left breast.; Try different positions for better latch. Usually football hold works well to help get a better latch.. Also, if the breast is engorged then laching is harder So a warm compress before feed helps. U cud also express for a bit before feeding so that the let down begins and baby gets instant gratification 😀..
And don't give up.. try various techniques and gradually it Shud work. 👍

hi nina pls try doing a hot compression with a warm towel to soften the nipple of the left breast to make it easier for him to latch on. also pls read and bookmark this compilation of similar queries asked by new moms which has been answered by experts and other moms -https://www.babychakra.com/learn/3096-new-mommy-questions-answered

Thank you so much everyone. I am still trying. He latched just once after that he did not take.
