very nice question! i used to keep a banana handy.
hey meeta - i hope you have gone through and booked this compilation of q's by new moms? very helpful answers!https://www.babychakra.com/learn/3096-new-mommy-questions-answered
I usually eat bananas, biscuits or dry fruits. These days I have heavy dinner then milk so it keeps me going till morning. I feed every 2 or 3 hrs in the night.
being a punjabi - some panjiri was made for me - so i even had some of that too. it's good to drink a glass of water or milk as well.

asha chaudhry; Rebecca Prakash; : thanks :) but why do elders then say not to eat banana ..it gives cold to the baby..is it true?; If you guys are saying you all eat then I am also not going to resist and relish the bananas and let the baby too :)
I have a snacks tray next to kiwi's; feeding accessories on my bed table 🤣🤣 that big foodie I am ...
I keep honey coated dry fruits in a jar , choco almonds , granola bars , cookies , a jar with fruits soaked in cinnamon sugar syrup ( i have some issues of not eating fresh; fruits at night ) ladoos; a jug full of water ..
All of the above home made .. I make it for 15 days at once 😍☺;
Oh woww nancy singh (@the_foodswingss); .. this looks yummilicious for making nursing at night fun 😛
nancy singh (@the_foodswingss); : can I have granola bars which we get at shops ? Because preparing is difficult , my mils doesn't leave the kitchen :p and she doesn't like me experimenting new things
To be honest I never felt like eating during night feeds but I used to drink a lot of water as I felt dehydrated. I believe there's nothing wrong in keeping some nut crackers or energy bars by ur side is good option dry fruits are best.
Meeta dear, you must keep a few snacks handy while breast feeding ( do keep a water bottle as well, keep urself hydrated)..i keep..
1) Fox nuts roasted in rock salt - you can add jeera and ajwain to enhance lactation
2) Gondh laddoo or panjeeri
3) Honey glazed almonds with sesame ( recipe link below) - sesame helps in lactation
4) Dates or Anjeer anything that you like
5) Jaggery peanuts bar
6) salted peanuts
All these helps in lactation and are easily available..
It’s Snack Time: Honey Glazed Almonds With Sesame
Dry anjeer is super nutricious!
Same as shiny!I dont have anything at nighgime feeding.I finish dinner before 8 and drink milk around 10.I drink lots of water though.I've flask beside me day in and day out!
Can we do honey coated cashew n walnut too like almond..?
ritu singhal; can we prepare honey coated cashew and Walnut too like almond?; Also is it advisable to eat cashew while bf?
makhana, dry fruits, rice puffs, dry fruits ladoo, glass of milk, any fruit or salad like carrot, sweet corn
Heena Morankar yes you can do,but i wont advise more than 2-3 pieces of it..you will unnecessarily pile on weight with cashews. Walnuts,i suggest 1 per day either pre soaked(best to be eaten this way) or honey glazed. Almonds too, just a few 4-5 if feeding at night, this is not to curb hunger, just to satisfy taste buds. If you are hungry at night,go for fox nuts or peanuts, that too a handful.
And like other moms suggested, its best not to munch at night, but all this can help you stay up. And post 3 months, you wont need to be up all night so its ok to binge, you need energy. Also, try drinking water first as moat of the times, body is just bored not hungry. I hope this might have answered ur ques to some extent.
ritu singhal : thank you so much for great tips
ritu singhal Ys..; U cleared all my doubts dear.. Also I am asking this for my evening snack.. Thank you so much!
Meeta Rajani Heena Morankar anytime gurlies, just remember you are doing great as Momma,Happy feeding 👍
