Hunting for a car park on 100 Ft Road was not an issue as they had valet parking available. Phew! The restaurant is set on 2 storeys. The entry had a life-like gorilla and polar bear. Some children can get fearful around the dummy animals. The stairway to the 2nd storey was in the form of a colossal crocodile jaw. Birds and tree animals adorned all the walls of the restaurant. Jungle music and animal sounds are played throughout. Elephants, lion, deer, tiger, frogs - any animal, you name it - they're all there sitting on rocks or artificial trees. The seats were all in cheetah or zebra print. Snakes, butterflies and bugs perched on the ceiling. A mini waterfall somewhere in the corner. Even the way to the restroom had an African jungle-man mannequin welcoming you. Ha ha!
As a buffet restaurant, The Rock had quite a decent spread for the price although the quality/taste can be slightly improved. This restaurant has the potential of being 'very good' from just 'good'. The staff were, otherwise, very friendly. They too were dressed in some sort of jungle-themed uniform!
I would recommend parents with a little older children to visit this restaurant. The ambiance is slightly on the darker side due to the theme. However, on the whole, a satisfactory dining experience that didn't burn a hole in the pocket. If there's news on any developments, we shall definitely pay another visit.
