Being aware of the fact that lactation takes some extra time post a c-section, I was mentally prepared for some hassle post the surgery. However, things were far more difficult than anticipated and probably due to added emotional stress lactation got delayed and the process got tough. I was trying my best to breastfeed my son but it was getting painful by each passing day. The little one was not putting on the required amount of weight and at my end the paon was crossing the threshold to bear further and I was literally about to quit but emotionally still wanted to keep trying. That was the time when I got in touch with Dr Jui with the complaont of insifficient lactation and she accepted for a home visit immediately the next day. The first major setback she helped me overcome was my prejudice of lack of sufficient feed volume. She helped me realize that the problem was with latching and not with lactatipn. Till then I had always thought that the supply is poor and hence the baby is not getting the necessary share. I was happily surprised to know that there was no major issue with lactation. The next most important thing she did was she corrected my feeding style. Taught me the correct way of latching and ensured that i would be able to do it independently later. Due her extremely caring nature and a patient ear she relieved my stress within just few minutes of her visit. She build in me the confidence that i could feed my baby. She suggested methods of improving and maintaining lactation and also guuded through a diet plan for the baby in the coming months.
