Walking up the dingy stairs to reach the centre did not help create a good first impression of the facility. Apparently a new set-up which was attended by a maid with her 3 yr old son! I could see lot of toys in terms of variety and cost and good range of books and worksheets, however picking and choosing any toy is quiet cumbersome, given their inaccessibility. Only the attendant could do it for you which is definitely dependant on what she could understand from your demand. So, while I repeatedly asked for specific range of toys to enhance thinking, reasoning abilities and fine motor skills of child, I was bombarded with all types/ colors/ designs/ cost/ functionality of toys – going through the rigorous process of opening the packets (most of them were in their cardboard packs), displaying them and closing them! Imagine my dilemma and patience seeing her do this for almost half the toys in the library in that heat with my lo in tow!
The best thing about the centre is customization! So, since I did not want to rent books or subscribe to worksheets at all and my focus was only toys, I was assured of customizing the deal by the caretaker of the centre (who was out on that particular day and was trying to coordinate over the phone with great zeal). So, for the same monthly fees, I could get 2-3 toys. The caretaker expressed concern for rolling of the toys though. The premium toys were the ones priced above Rs.1000 – and they were basically rides and not toys! They did not offer home delivery, however were willing to do it for me (because of the vicinity factor) with additional charge. However, in absence of their online presence, there is no way to choose toys to be home delivered!!
