This beautiful red sandstone monument was built in 17th century by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It is a treat for anyone who is interested in Mughal history. However the monument isnt well maintained and needs to be renovated. It is closed on Mondays. A museum is situated in the middle of the fort. But during summer months, due to lack of air-conditioning, the heat is unbearable. The main attraction however is the Sound and Light Show which takes place every evening at 6 pm. It highlights Mughal history. Also one can buy souvenirs and knick-knacks from Chatta Chowk-a kind of a bazaar which sells it.
