I had a horrible experience here in an emergency situation during my pregnancy. In my 4th month I had a bleeding episode. I was completely in a panic. My collegues in office rushed me to the hospital. There when my friends approached the reception, I was asked to go to the OPD section. Once there, the staff took at least half an hour to decide what to do. Finally the available doc at the OPD checked me and asked me to get some scans immediately. However, the nursing staff kept shifting me from one floor to another with no clue whatsoever of what was happening and what they were doing.

Later I came to know, that although my gynec was there in the hospital when I arrived, the staff did not even contact her. She was informed almost an hour later. By that time she had already left the hospital. For almost 2 hours we were all in an absolutely confused state with no proper guidance.

Finally when I was advised to be admitted, the hospital did not have any rooms. I had to spend 3 hours on a doctor’s examination table in a spare OPD chamber before they finally got me a room.

The hospital really needs to learn how to handle emergency situations and guide the patients properly. Had the reception guided us properly in the beginning, we would have gone to the emergency ward and avoided all the confusion.
