My child loves Kitab Khana as well. It is so spacious and well organised. There is a big mat and cushy chairs to explore the pick of your books.
Kitab Khana is well stocked with books for children. Along with the famous publishers like Penguin, DK, Ladybird etc., they have books from Tullika, which are a great way to introduce any child to Indian Culture. They also have books from Children Book Trust or CBT which I have read in my childhood and which I still think are the best books for any child to learn rich vocabulary and precise language.
They also have a good range of picture books and Encyclopedias. Even for the little older children above three, a wide range of Ladybird stories are easily available.
The environment in the store is so peaceful and encourages children to explore books and writers. My friend's seven-year-old was reading the names of the great writers that were engraved on the wall and it sparked an interest in him to know more about these writers.
The store also holds workshops, book launches, book reading sessions etc. for children on number of occasions, more details about them can be found on their website, which has a monthly calendar.
Another thing which I love is, the staff is customer friendly. The store manager assists customers if there is any need and if the book is out of stock but available with the publisher, they order it for you. They also reserve a book for you, if you want it buy it in another week or fortnight.
Icing on the cake is the restaurant inside which serves excellent food in-house café. One can enjoy reading book in the café after buying it and read it along with having coffee, hot chocolate and some mouth-watering delicacies and desserts.
Kitab Khana is the best place to hang out with kids. Dive into the ocean of knowledge and literature. I have beautiful memories with my child at Kitab Khana, I take him there whenever I can and highly recommend it.
