The purpose of my visit was to know what the mother-toddler sessions were all about, and enrol for the same. As we entered and saw the premises, I was told how professionally and patiently they take care of the kids, impart knowledge and make the parent-child happy. But as my conversations continued, the first advice given by the head of the centre was: NEVER TALK IN YOUR MOTHER TONGUE WITH YOUR CHILD, Mother tongue is something that they can learn as and when they grow. SPEAK ONLY IN ENGLISH.
Moreover, she boasted about how kids aged 3 & above can converse in English, French & Spanish fluently, if not in mother tongue.
I was shocked, upset and extremely sad with all this. I made a decision, never to put my child there or recommend it to anyone.
As far as I am concerned, I feel as a parent, I must make things easy for my child, not put him under pressure in his age of exploring the world.
