Why You Should Never Miss Your Child's Vaccination?

Immunization can save the life of around 1.5 million kids per year in India! As a preventive healthcare method, vaccine plays a vital role in protecting children from infectious diseases. So, providing timely vaccination to our kids is important to secure the health of our future generation. India accounts for 21% of vaccine-preventable deaths among children under the age of 5, hence the consequences of not administering vaccine shots is better not spelt out. We definitely don’t want our children to fall prey to any of these monsters called -MMR, Diphtheria, Polio and others! Do we?

Vaccines are nothing but a deactivated form of the micro-organism which is introduced in those tiny bodies to have a tete-a-tete with their immune system. What the body generates on recognizing them, are its defence personnel against diseases, called antibodies.

Here are some facts which helped us recognize the gravity of the problem!

1. In rural India, Measles immunization has been improved from 61.8% to 72.4% over a period of four years(2005 - 2009), thereby improving infant mortality rate

2. DTwP vaccines protect kids from 3 deadly diseases namely - diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (Whooping cough).

3. Since 1988, there has been a 99% decrease in polio cases and today India has been declared a Polio-free country

4. Thus, it is imperative that you block your calendars in advance for your child’s vaccination dates. The picture below illustrates for you - the Top 16 vaccinations that your child needs to take.
