Every new mommy’s utmost concern is her baby’s health. To vaccine or not to vaccine, which one is an absolute must and more; are all very valid questions! The answer though, is simple. Vaccines are as important to your baby’s overall health and immunity as their nutrition and dietary needs.

But if you are one of those mothers that are left perplexed by the elaborate baby vaccine schedule, then here is some good news!

Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines wing of Sanofi Pharmaceuticals has launched a ready-to-use, fully liquid, 6-in-1 vaccine by the name Hexaxim, in India.

Indicated for primary and booster vaccination of infants and toddlers starting from 6 weeks to 24 months of age, the vaccine is said to provide protection against six major childhood diseases – diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Haemophilus influenza B and hepatitis B.

“Hexaxim is globally, the only combination vaccine with acellular pertussis (acP) and inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) to have received a pre qualification by the World Health Organization (WHO)”, a company statement said. “During its clinical study assessment, Hexaxim was found to be safe and well tolerated as a primary series and booster vaccination in all schedules, countries, and ethnicities tested”, it added.

This newly introduced Hexaxim vaccine is definitely good news for all of us at BabyChakra! As a parenting platform with over 5,00,000 mothers in our circle; we know that baby’s immunization and vaccine schedules are always a cause of concern for mums. As Hexaxim promises to convene and ensure consistency in administering the right dose of each antigen every single time, we are certainly welcoming the news!
