With her writings, Twinkle Khanna is leading from forefront the new wave feminist conversation in our country! Her impeccable wit, laced in sophisticated intelligence and verbal brilliance; made her the highest selling female author of 2015 and this year seems no different.

The former actor who has reinvented herself post motherhood, is now better known as Mrs. Funnybones, courtesy her first book! While her columns continue to break the internet and while she bags the many laurels for her work, her second venture, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad is also receiving rave reviews.

Sudha Murthy

Sudha Murthy is more than just an author. She is an inspiration to Indian women on more levels than one! While she has authored several books, before and after motherhood, she is also known for that feisty letter she wrote to JRD Tata in reaction to the job notice, where women were asked to not apply!

Well, that letter eventually made her the first female engineer at TATA. And ever since, she has author many books.

BabyChakra recommends: We can’t pick a favourite when it comes to Murthy’s books but Grandma’s Bag of Stories and House of Cards, are our favorites. While the first is a good read for your kids the latter is a story of a doctor and his wife Mridula – a story that  every Indian woman will relate to.

Another mommy author, Bhakti Mathur shot to fame for her literary creation the Amma Tell Me series. A private banker by day, a mother of two and an avid follower of Indian mythology, Mathur is an ace author of the children’s book series that is rich with tales from the Indian mythology
