In a 28 day cycle, ovulation generally happens between day 14 and 17, which is when an egg will erupt from its follicle and leave the ovary to enter the fallopian tube. You are considered most fertile at this stage and if you do make love in this period, the likelihood of a pregnancy is high.

In the next 24 hours, fertilization will occur if one of the sperm penetrates the egg. The sperm’s nucleus merges with the nucleus of the egg and a unique genetic composition is created. This is the magical formation of life!

Did You Know?

There are nearly 250 million sperm in each ejaculation – only around 400 of them survive the challenging 10 hour journey to the egg!
