It is considered bad luck in some cultures to share the news of a baby before the pregnancy crosses the initial three month period. Although announcing your pregnancy is unlikely to make a difference, you may want to consider withholding this exciting information to anyone who isn't in your immediate family since, sadly, around 26% of pregnancies are lost in the first 12 weeks.
