It’s hard to have a figure on how much your baby will weigh but it should be around 3 and a half kilos at birth on an average and your baby should be about 20 inches long. Gender and genetics can both play a role here. An average Indian baby, can weigh between 2.5 kg to 3.5 kg at birth.

The baby’s bones are not yet fused, which allows them to overlap a bit if it’s a snug fit through the birth canal during labor. This so-called “molding” is the reason your baby’s noggin may look a little pointy after birth. Rest assured – it’s normal and temporary.
