The World No. 1 plans to return to playing tennis within three months!
Serena Williams, one of the world’s top tennis players, is now mom to a healthy girl!
Social platforms were abuzz with congratulatory messages and light-hearted comments about how Serena and her daughter had already begun practising on court.
The 35-year-old was at least two months pregnant when she won the Australian Open title, her 23rd Grand Slam, in January this year. Her pregnancy was confirmed in April when she had accidentally uploaded a photo on a social platform at 20 weeks.
Crediting her sister Venus for inspiration, Serena had said in an earlier interview, "I definitely plan on coming back. I'm not done yet. If she's still playing, I know I can play. This [motherhood] is just a new part of my life. My baby's going to be in the stands and hopefully cheering for me."
In fact, Serena had announced plans for returning to playing tennis within three months of her child being born to defend her World No. 1 title. Now that’s some spirit, don’t you agree?
