Methi Curry: A Healthy Recipe For Your Family

Are you hesitating to eat Methi because   of it’s bitter taste ? Try this recipe and am sure you would love it.

 

Main Ingredients:

 

2 medium size bunch of Methi leaves

3/4 chopped green chilli (as per taste)

Salt (as per taste)

3/4 Tbsp grated coconut (preferably fresh  coconut else dry coconut powder)

A pinch of turmeric powder

 

Ingredients for Seasoning:

 

1/2 Tsp of mustard seeds

1/2 Tsp of cumin seeds

1/2 Tsp of urad dal

1 red chilli

1 Tsp oil

Recipe:

 

1- Take a deep pan and add oil to it. Once oil is heated, add mustard seeds. Add remaining seasoning ingredients after mustard seeds are splattered.

 

2- Add green chilli pieces to the seasoning. Let them fry.

 

3- Add Methi leaves and cover it with a lid.

 

4- Once Methi leaves are half cooked, add pinch of salt (as per taste) , turmeric powder and saute it well. Cover the lid again (It takes approximately 10 to 15 min to cook completely).

 

5- Once Methi leaves are cooked, add grated coconut and stir it well.

 

Your Methi curry is ready now!

 

This curry goes well with rice and you can have it with chapati or roti as well. Since Coconut is added, you will not feel the bitter taste of Methi

 

PS : I have learnt this recipe from my Mom and tried it myself as well.
