It was little Ziva Dhoni’s third birthday yesterday and we’ve been a little late to inform you, so we have extra special belated birthday wishes for the little diva.

Everytime mum Sakshi Dhoni posts pictures and videos of little Ziva on social media, the internet goes into a tizzy. She melted our hearts when she sang in Malayalam, wished the world Happy New Year and mewed like a cat with Virat Kohli.

Today, we would like to share an interesting anecdote around Ziva’s birth. When MS Dhoni was preparing for the ICC World Cup in 2015, his focus was only on cricket (the dedicated player that he is) and so he did not even carry his mobile phone.

Just a week before the ICC World Cup match, little Ziva was born. Since MS Dhoni couldn’t be reached directly, wife Sakshi had to find another way to convey the happy news.

She contacted teammate Suresh Raina and asked him to share the news with the new dad.

This incident was mentioned in journalist Rajdeep Sardesai’s book ‘Democracy’s XI: The Great Indian Cricket Story’ published by Juggernaut Books.

Juggernaut tweeted about this incident last friday.

When Dhoni was asked if he would rather be in India, he said, “I have been blessed with a baby daughter. Mum and daughter both are good. But as of now I am on national duties so I think everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign,” he added.
