With school being out and summer break just about to begin, we will be spending a lot of time at home then venturing out in this blistering heat!!! What better way to spend time at home by reading books!

So, here are our current favourites:

1. The Princess and The Wizard by Julia Donaldson

This is a beautiful story about a princess who has been captured by a wizard and how she has been given 7 chances to escape by changing her colour and shapes. This is a perfect story for kids above 3 years. It has it’s own magic and little bit of superpowers and a child should be told that this isn’t a real story but a fairy tale.

4. Unicorn Wings by Mallory Loehr

We had recently attended a unicorn themed birthday party and my little one has been asking a lot of questions about them..So, I picked up this very basic book to talk about unicorns. It’s essential to tell your child that this is fictional and a fantasy character.

5. Catch That Cat! by Tharini Viswanath

A beautiful story written by an Indian author about a disabled girl saving the cat. It talks about grit and determination of this free spirited though disabled girl and that one doesn’t need superpowers to help or save anyone.
