It’s summer vacations and most schools are closed. Many kids are enjoying at their grandparents. We, Mothers are always worried how to keep our bundle of joy busy in this scorching heat inside the house.

When I was young, I loved doing tie and dye on white clothes.  Clothes which I  used were cotton and I used to take the clothes which were left in our shop.

I had few white cotton clothes and food colouring at home. So one afternoon, we made handkerchief using the simplest tie and dye technique and my boys had a lot of fun.

For this you need to take any natural cloth. Polyesters don’t work.

Soak the cloth for few minutes to remove any starch and when damp tie rubber bands or thick threads in the design you want..Even you can add few chole in between and tie around it.

Now give dropper to your kid and ask him to apply colours according to his choice and preference.

Once done keep it inside ziplock bag and after hour or so open it and let it dry. Remove the rubber bands.

My kids were totally amazed and the expressions they had on their face can’t be explained in words.

We made many to gift as gifts to our family member.
