When you start semi-solid for your baby as he enters into his seventh month,  purees are literally the best thing that you could offer to your child. It is easily made and is super simple to eat and digest. Plus, it is loaded with extra nutrition. Here are three simple yet effective ideas to make the perfect food puree for your baby.

1. Carrot, Apple & Pomegranate Puree

Take a small sized carrot, half apple (small, peel the apple if the baby is below 8 months) and  one tablespoon full pomegranate. Cut the carrots and apples into small pieces. Blend all three together. Your puree is ready. Prepare fresh each time you want to feed it to the baby.

Nutrition fact – Carrots are very rich in vitamin A which help support your eye health, lungs, hearts and kidneys. They are also rich in vitamin K and vitamin B6. They also add fiber to the baby’s food. Apples are also rich in roughage and other necessary nutrients. Pomegranate is rich in minerals and vitamins especially vitamin C and E. It also helps in treating digestive problems. It can also help in getting rid of intestinal worms.

2. Immune Boost Puree

Take a small carrot, a small piece of ginger, half an apple (peel if the baby is less than 8 months), a slice of orange and a pinch of turmeric. Cut the carrot into small pieces and blend the ingredients together. Feed it to the baby.

Nutrition fact – Carrots are loaded with beta-carotene which protects the respiratory tract from getting infected easily. Apples are natural sweeteners and the antioxidant in them strengthens the immune system. Oranges are rich in vitamin C which increase the production of antibodies when infected by bacteria or a virus as well as that of white blood cells which help to destroy them.  Ginger has medicinal and antimicrobial properties. Turmeric is also medicinal and contains Curcumin which creates proteins which are important to boost the immune system.

3. Carrot, Mango and Raisins Puree

Take two carrots, half a mango (ripe) and a few raisins (soaked, take only few as they can be too sugary if added in large number). Steam the carrots for 10-15 minutes after cutting them in small pieces. Also steam the Mango for 5 minutes. You can add the mango to the carrot steamer too after 10 minutes have passed since you started steaming the carrots and continue for 5 more minutes. Add all the ingredients in the blender and blend into a smooth puree.

Raisins are natural sweetener and are also rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins. They also help in maintaining the iron levels in body.
