Summer vacation are here and here’s an easy way to keep your kids busy.

Generally kids love crayons and many kids, especially  I know about mine, do not like using crayons which are broken.

Hence we are left with tons of broken crayons. Since the kids are  in learning age, sometimes they put more pressure and the crayons break, sometimes they peel the wrapper which again leads to broken crayons, putting legs or any other objects while painting also leads to broken crayons.

Today morning, when I saw the overflowing box full of broken crayons, I asked my kids to make some crayons cupcakes. They loved the idea and were ready to help and learn same time.

I asked them to sort the same colours in a bowl. Then asked to remove the wrappers, if any.

Here’re the steps to follow:

  1. Place the bowl with broken crayons on the tawa.
  2. In few minutes, all the crayons will melt completely.
  3. Pour the melted colors in the silicon moulds to give different shapes and sizes.
  4. Refrigerate for a few minutes or keep these under the fan.
  5. Take out from the mould and they ready to be used.

Note: You can even make it in microwave and it takes approximately 6 mins but since many of us doesn’t own, I tried on tawa which is a must owned product in every household…

Secondly, you can mix different colours and also make mixed crayons cupcakes.
