Married to a foodie family, I had learnt a lot of non-veg dishes, This recipe is one of the Indo Burmese delicacy, from my husband’s granny.
Ingredients:
- Mutton Ribs – 6 pieces (Ask the shopkeeper to slightly flatten the Ribs)
- Onion – 1 Big sized
- Tomato – 1 Big sized
- Green Chillies – 3
- Garlic and Ginger paste – 2 table spoon
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder – 2 tsp
- Garam masala – 1 tsp
- Salt
To fry:
- Egg – 1
- Maida – 2 tablespoon
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Baking Soda (optional) – A pinch
- Oil
Method:
- Clean the mutton, place it on the cooker, add thinly sliced onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, green chilli slit, salt, turmeric and chilli powder with half glass of water. Pressure cook for 1 whistle on full flame, reduce the flame to medium and give 5 whistles. Once the steam goes off, open and cook till the water becomes thick gravy, The mutton Ribs should be coated with the thick gravy, so cook till the gravy coats well on mutton.
- Meanwhile, take maida and beat it with the egg by adding sugar and soda.
- Take the mutton chops on a plate and whatever gravy is remaining in the cooker, add it to the maida mix.
- The maida mix should be like bhajjya mix consistency.
- Heat oil in a kadai, take the mutton ribs, dip it in the maida mix and fry (like how we fry bajias).
- Since the ribs are already cooked, we just need to fry for 2 or 3 mins.
Delicious mutton ribs are ready to serve.
