I was a C-section baby and I am now a proud C-section mom. I don’t let people judge me, shame me or give me unnecessary gyan!! I am revelling mommyhood and I barely feel anything less that i didn’t have a vaginal birth. If stats are to go by, it is a rarity these days, at least in my geography.

Besides the scar and the scare around C section, one thing to keep in mind is that C-section moms have to include certain things in their diet once they back home. The list of what to avoid is popular, this is a list of what not to avoid. Let us make this popular now.

  • Milk
  • Curd
  • Masoor dal
  • Kalonji roasted in a spoon of ghee
  • Low ghee-laced panjiri
  • Soups with lots of veggies
  • Sabudana in milk
  • Lots of jeera and ajwain

The thumb rule is to eat EVERYTHING you are comfortable with and that makes you feel light after eating. Tune yourself mentally to walk for ten minutes daily and target fitting into your old clothes soon. Be gradual but be consistent. Eat well, eat healthy and take care of your baby!
