Motherhood is a great time to revisit your career decisions and carve your niche with new dimensions. Deeksha did the same and created her own MiniKingdom. Her creative instinct, expertise and dedication oozes from her story.  Read her journey of making it all happen here…

1. My Mom Quotient: 

I started off as a “GOOGLE MOM” as for everything I had google to rely on. Today, as my child is growing up making me a more matured mom, I follow a firm way of parenting. I have my set of do’s & don’ts for her, but then I also allow her the free time and chances to make her own choices too. I also love spending time with her, whether it’s by involving her in my everyday tasks, playing in the garden or reading books or just sitting and singing nursery rhymes. We make a perfect team and she completes me in forms possible.

2. My Mom Inc. Story: 

Having worked with fashion corporate like Reliance, Lifestyle and Adidas, and a master’s degree in  fashion management, I knew my niche. A difficult pregnancy and mommyhood made me make the switch to a stay-at-home mom, but Being a mommy also, changed the world around me. It was then I learnt to multitask, and thought of starting my own venture struck me. I was sure of doing something which involved both my baby and my professional knowledge.It’s then I came up with the idea of minikingdom. All our products cater to the needs of young parents making their lives easier in all possible manners. We deal in fun and unique stuff which are difficult to source in India  like a portable baby bottle warmer which works on a USB connected to your car or a shampoo shower cap that protects your li’l one’s eyes from soap and water while bathing. We started off from a facebook page with 30 likes and now have our products listed on 5 different websites. I guess we have come a long way in just 6 months.

3. Who Inspired/ Supported Me: 

 I am blessed to have a lot of support around me in the form of my family especially my husband, who stood by me when I decided to leave my job at the peak of my career. Till date he continues to motivate me to work harder and think out of the box. He is my biggest critic and checks and uses every product before it’s actually put out for sale.

4. Advice/Tips:  

I suggest, try to involve your family in your business,it really helps and coordination is easy.Also make time for yourself even if it means just to sit back and smell the air.

Don’t be scared to take risks. Always remember we are women and are born to multitask.Find your niche as the world is full of competition. But you shall succeed only if you know where your strengths lie. 

5. I love babychakra because off late it plays a big role in all my decisions in regards to my baby be it playschool or activity centre. I love to check reviews before even stepping into anyplace.
