Actor Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput welcomed their little baby boy last Wednesday and the world couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of the new celeb baby.

The couple has decided to call the baby Zain, which means beautiful. Mira Rajput was clicked holding the newborn after they were discharged from Hinduja hospital. Shahid and big sister Misha were also around, looking delighted.

Shahid’s mother Neelima Azeem expressed her joy to an entertainment portal. “It’s wonderful. Shahid and Mira are complete. I am in the best phase of my life. Misha has been the love of my life ever since she was born. And now, Zain joins her. He is a beautiful child. We all have toiled very hard in our lives and now just reaping happiness. God has been kind,” she said.

“I had a very strong feeling that they will get a son, this time. I had even shared it with them. I kind of saw a son in their arms in one of my dreams,” she said.

The baby boy’s name, Zain was decided at the time of Misha’s birth itself. “Mira and Shahid decided it mutually. At the time of Misha’s birth, Zain was decided. It was that it will be Misha if it is a girl (combination of Mira and Shahid) and if it is a boy, it will be Zain. Long back I had shared the name with them. I had told Shahid that I love 4 names- Shahid, Ishaan, Zain and Kaamraan,” revealed Neelima. So the newest baby gets a name that was meant for him.

Choosing a baby name is not easy. The meaning, how it sounds, it’s significance and spelling, everything matters. A name is for life, so choosing a baby name must be done carefully.

Here’s how you can choose your little one’s name.

Say it out loud

Say the chosen name out loud. See if you and your spouse like the sound of it and see if it suits the baby.

Pronounce it in several different ways

You don’t want your baby’s name to be made fun of or have a different meaning when s/he interacts with people across different cultures right? Choose a neutral sounding name

Research on the meaning

Your baby might ask you why you chose that particular name later on, so do your research!

See if it sounds right

Many a times you will get a gut feeling when you say out the name. It will sound just right for your baby when you say it. Try it out!
