Lisa Ray never ceases to surprise us. The Indo-Canadian actress, one of the first supermodels of India was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2009. The fighter that she is, she braved the odds and overcame the disease a year after she was diagnosed with it by undergoing a stem cell transplant.

The actress frankly shared that she has been working on the memoir for a long time and after the birth of her twins, it feels like her third baby.

We can’t agree more with her. The actress shared that her memoir will be an unflinching and deeply moving account of her nomadic existence, her arrival into the Indian entertainment industry, her relationship with her parents (Bengali father and Polish mother), movie sets, Oscars, and her struggle with eating disorders.

The memoir will also reveal about her being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, her spiritual quest, and the heartaches and triumphs that made up her journey. According to the publishers, HarperCollins, the memoir will also be about the actress’ search for love.

As an actress, Lisa Ray boasts of a long career in the entertainment industry across multiple countries. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Water. Lisa has worked for in the television industry and has done modelling as well. For someone who was flying high and was stepping on the stones of success at a steady rate, the diagnosis of her rare blood cancer in 2009 mustn’t have been an easy thing to deal with.

Instead of sitting and lamenting, the brave lady chose to fight it. This shows her spirit and determination in the face of any kind of adversity.

The decision to relieve the whole trauma while writing her memoir was a brave choice. Once again, Lisa Ray has gone ahead and done what she is best at doing – living life on her own terms.
