We have new celebrity parents on the block. Actors Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, who tied the knot earlier this year, are now parents to a baby girl.
The little one was born on Sunday and according to sources, both mom and baby are doing fine.

Neha and husband Angad got married in the month of May and officially confirmed their pregnancy in August on Instagram.

The couple received congratulatory messages from plenty of friends and well-wishers, and one of the best messages was from another new mommy, Sania Mirza.

Sania tweeted, “Kisses to you and hugs new mommy on the arrival of your baby girl. Life is never gonna be the same… Three weeks of experience talking. Play dates await”

It’s true that the first few days of parenthood can be harrowing, especially for first time moms. Here’s how new mommies can sail through the initial days:

Accept that it will take time

You’re suddenly expected to only feed, bathe and change in loop and are tired, and sleep deprived. The crying of the baby might overwhelm you and postpartum blues might kick in. The right step forward is to accept that it will take time for you to get used to this rollercoaster, but ultimately you will.

Take help. Take it

You might have thought that you would do ‘everything’ for your baby alone, but let’s accept it, it is not easy. So accept help from in-laws, parents and friends. Hire a maid. Slowly, you will learn the ropes.

Keep time for release

Your baby will be on your mind 24/7. But keep pockets of time for yourself. Mediate for few minutes, take a longer shower, talk to your spouse and friends or just catch up on sleep whenever possible.

Eat healthy

Keep up your fluid and nutrient intake as you need to be healthy to keep the baby healthy

Don’t fret

Try to avoid belittling yourself if you are struggling to breastfeed or are unable to calm your child down. It’s all a matter of time, but your mental peace is more important.

Filter advice

Everyone will flood you with advice, but believe in yourself and trust your instincts. It’s only when you’re happy that you will raise a healthy and happy baby.
