Recipe: Instant Sev Khamani



  • In a bowl, mix 1 cup besan and 1/2 cup curd. Add salt, sugar, limbu, green chilli paste and ginger
  • Add 1/2 cup water . Add some more water if needed. Its consistency should be like a thick shake.
  • Mix it all. Add 1/2 tsp soda and mix thoroughly. Grease your pan and then add batter in it.
  • Put it in a vessel of boiling water and close the lid.
  • Check with knife by poking at the corner and centre after 7-8 minutes.
  • Cook it at medium flame. Let it cool.
  • Once it cools, use a medium charni to  make fine khamani out of the  khaman.


For the tadka:


  • Mix Hing, Rai, green chilli, garlic and add ¼ cup water to it.
  • Add salt and sugar if you feel that your khaman's taste is mild.
  • Mix this tadka with khamani. You can add cashew and grapes in Sev Khamani.
  • Serve it with fine sev, dhaniya and pomegranate on top.
