The Dr. Muthulakshmi Maternity benefit Scheme is one of the oldest State-run Maternity Benefit Schemes in place. The Dr. Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit was launched with the goal to reduce maternity mortality rates, maternity malnutrition, and infant malnutrition.
The scheme has been designed to provide optimal financial aid, health-care and nutrition to women from the lower economic strata of the society.
Eligibility:
Candidate should be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu and should have proof to corrobate the same. Candidate should be from BPL Candidate should have a valid PICME or RCH ID Pregnant and nursing mothers of 19 years of age and above are eligible for this scheme for up to first two live births.
How to apply?
Eligible Pregnant women can register on https://picme.tn.gov.in/ right from inception of pregnancy until obtaining birth certificate for the new born. Persons registered under PICME are provided with a 12 digit RCH ID, which is be used to track all aspects of the pregnancy by the Public Health Department.
Expectant mothers can get PICME registration through the nearest government health care centers, hospitals and primary health care centers. Upon registration candidate can contact the local nurses or Aanganwadi center workers for collecting the 12 digit registration code.
