Recipe: Stuffed Aloo Puri



  • 2 cups Wheat flour/Atta
  • 2 Big Potatoes (peeled)
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (powdered)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Oil (during kneading dough) and some for deep frying




  • Knead a dough adding water little by little to the atta.
  • Add the oil and knead well to form a smooth, firm and  non sticky dough.
  • Cook the potato in a pressure cooker till soft.
  • Mash it well.
  • Add the red chilly powder,turmeric powder,fennel seeds ,coriander powder and salt.
  • Mix everything well together.
  • Pinch a small portion of the dough.(lemon sized.)
  • Roll with a rolling pin to a small disc.
  • Place a small portion of the potato stuffing.
  • Seal the ends and roll it back to a ball and flatten it.
  • Roll with a rolling pin to a small disc.
  • Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
  • When its hot, drop the poori into oil and fry till it turns a golden  brown.

Repeat the same with rest of the dough and potato stuffing.
Serve imediately.
If you are packing it in the box, place them in aluminium foil ,seal and keep it in the box.
