31st August To 6th September 2015: Children’s Events Guide For Mumbai For The Week!

The festivity is in the air. I am sure you had a great time over the weekend celebrating RakshaBandhan, and are looking forward to Janmashtmi this weekend, and then, the most awaited festival of 'Aamchi Mumbai', the Ganpati festival. I know, I know…there's still time for Ganpati, but the preparations are already in full swing as you will come to know as you read this week's newletter.

This week's children's activities include a fun Janmashtmi celebration for kids, an eco-friendly Ganpati making workshop in Juhu, one more green Ganesha workshop in Andheri and Bandra, and a unique book reading program for kids.

1. Janmashtmi Celebrations
Age group: 3 years and above

Little Krishna with his cute naughtiness and impish charm is everyone's eternal favourite. So how about dressing up your kids as little Krishnas, Radhas and Gopis and get them into the enthusiasm of Janmashtmi by breaking the 'matki'? Kids Club is organizing a Janmashtmi party at their venue for little kids to celebrate Janmashtmi the fun way.

2. Ganpati Making Workshop
Age group: 5 years and above

You must have seen Mumbai's street vendors busy selling Ganpati idols. However, before booking one, how about taking your child for a Ganpati making workshop where he or she can make a Ganesh idol from clay. Let's pledge to have an eco-friendly Ganpati festival this year!

3. Green Ganesha Workshop
Age group: 4 years and above
Venue: Smart Potato, Lokhandwala and Bandra

One more eco-friendly Ganesha making workshop for kids. Seems like everyone is waking up to the cause! This Green Ganesha workshop is held by Smart Potato at their Lokhandwala and Bandra branches. The workshop will be conducted in two parts on 5th and 12th September. Kids will be making a palm-sized Ganesha using clay and paper.

4. Beyond Books
Age group: 4 years and above
Venue: BhaktiVedanta School, Off New Link Road, Andheri West

A unique reading program that first starts with Yoga followed by a story and some general knowledge related to the story. It helps kids learn vocabulary and build their IQ.
